SoftSpot (“SoftSpot”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a couples app that gives two people one private shared space — a relationship health dashboard, a shared calendar, joint finances, shared goals, and an AI relationship coach. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

SoftSpot is designed for your pair, not as a public social network. We collect only what we need to run the app and keep your account and relationship data working across both partners’ devices.

2. Information We Collect

• Account information: your name, email address, and (optionally) phone number used to create and secure your account.
• Profile information: details you choose to add, such as a profile photo.
• Content you create: calendar events, expenses and joint finance entries, goals, relationship health check-ins, and messages you send to the AI coach.
• Partner connection data: the link between you and your partner once you connect using an invite code or link, and the shared couple content that connection makes visible to both of you.
• Purchase information: subscription status and purchase history needed to unlock and manage premium features. Payment details are processed by Apple or Google — we never receive your full payment card information.
• Device and usage information: identifiers such as your account ID and a device/push identifier, plus basic information about how you interact with the app so it functions reliably and can send notifications you’ve enabled.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to run the app for you and your partner. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

• To provide and operate the app — including syncing shared calendars, finances, goals, and health data across both partners’ devices.
• To authenticate you, secure your account, and prevent fraud or abuse.
• To deliver features you use, such as partner connection, check-ins, and the AI relationship coach.
• To process and manage subscriptions and premium entitlements.
• To send notifications you have enabled, such as reminders and partner activity.
• To provide customer support and respond to your requests.

4. How Information Is Shared

We do not share your personal information with third parties for their own advertising or marketing.

• With your partner: when you connect, shared couple content (such as calendar events, finances, goals, and relationship health data) is visible to both of you within your shared space.
• With service providers: we use trusted providers to host data, deliver notifications, power the AI coach, and process subscriptions. They may process your information only to provide services to us.
• For legal reasons: we may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or our service.

5. AI Coach

The AI relationship coach uses the prompts and messages you send in order to generate responses. Do not share information you would not want processed by an automated service. The AI coach provides general guidance and is not a substitute for professional, medical, legal, or therapeutic advice.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard protections for data in transit (such as HTTPS) and rely on our cloud providers’ security practices for stored data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to reduce risk and review our setup as the product evolves.

7. Data Retention

We retain your information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, security, or operational purposes. You can request deletion of your account at any time, subject to any requirements we must meet by law.

SoftSpot is not directed to children. The app is intended for adults in relationships, and you must meet the minimum age required in your region to use it. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date above. Your continued use of SoftSpot after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
